Following Inter’s 2-1 success away to Cagliari, central defender Milan Skriniar shared his thoughts and feelings in an interview with broadcaster Sport Mediaset.

“It was a very difficult match for us, you are always made to suffer when playing here in Sardinia. It was a very physical match, as it has been in previous years too,” he began.

“Conte’s winning mentality is felt by the squad and we must avoid the drops in concentration that we suffered during the game. We are hopeful of having a great season under Conte. We are working hard to achieve something important.”

In the lead-up to Romelu Lukaku’s game winning goal from the penalty spot, there were clearly audible racist chants directed toward him and the Slovakian shared his disgust at these chants.

“I heard things that should not be in football. That is why I silenced some fans, because some things should not happen.”
