Despite still having a 100% record in Serie A, Inter manager Antonio Conte has insisted that his side ‘can and must definitely improve’.
“We were good and fought blow for blow with them. In terms of personality, we showed a lot after they equalised. We knew we needed to score to win and we managed that,” he remarked in an interview with Inter TV following last night’s 2-1 win over Cagliari.
“The best form of defence is attack. If you attack, you then do not need to defend. During the match, there were some moments where we suffered but we must be compact in order to not suffer too much.
“We let them get a lot of crosses in and this is something that we have to improve on. The three points we have won were not a given. We can and must definitely improve but I want to congratulate the boys.”
He concluded: “The opponents will always try to adapt and be much more defensive against us. We must be able to play our own game, always, even if, the opponent changes their shape.”
