Wanda Icardi has shared her hopes to see husband and client Mauro Icardi represent famous Argentine club Boca Juniors one day.

“I’d like Mauro to play for Boca Juniors one day. Despite being a River fan myself, I would not put obstacles in the way of him joining them. I would very much like to return to my country. There was never a serious proposal from Boca during the Summer though,” she said as she was interviewed on Argentine television show Morfi Telefe.

Asked about Icardi’s transfer deadline move to PSG she said: “If I waited until the last moment, it’s because I had an ace up my sleeve. No one knew it was going to happen. Even the kids didn’t know. Mauro has already gone to Paris. He packed a small suitcase, left and left me with everything. The kids go to school in Italy therefore we will live between Milan and Paris.”

She was then asked whether or not she would take on other clients in the future.

“I couldn’t because managing Mauro is very intense. I have been offered to look after lots of players such as husband’s of my friends but anyone who knows me knows that I am not in it for my own commercial interest. I do it for the love I have for Mauro.

“Of the options we had available to us, going to PSG was the worst for me because I have to go back and forth but I thought of him. There were many clubs in Italy who wanted him and it would have been far easier for him too.

She concluded by speaking on the photo that surfaced of her ex-husband Maxi Lopez and Icardi’s new PSG teammate Neymar on the day her husband completed his move from Inter to PSG.

“They published the photo the same day that Mauro joined the team but it is an old photo. I want to think it was just a coincidence, because all the players know each other.”
