Report Suggests Inter Target Federico Chiesa May Leave Fiorentina Next Summer

Inter target Federico Chiesa remained at Fiorentina after the closure of the transfer window earlier this week, but only for another year.

This according to Milano based newspaper the Corriere della Sera, who reports that the 21-year-old Italian forward is willing to refuse a contract extension to progress his career with the Viola.

According to the report, Fiorentina are set to propose a new contract to the player soon, with an increased salary to tempt him into remaining in Florence.

However, he’s likely to decline the option as next summer he will look to leave the club, either to join Juventus or Inter, who are both keen to acquire the young talent.

Chiesa is a product of Fiorentina’s youth setup and so far, has spent his whole career with the club. He has made 116 appearances for the club, with 23 goals and 21 assists since breaking into the first team in 2016.

Inter will have to compete with Juventus if they are to acquire the 21-year-old.
