Inter defender Andrea Ranocchia has spoken on the importance of the group in achieving the objectives that they have for this season.
“We must continue on this path. The season is still long, we have many games ahead and now we are at the stage where we are playing games every three days,” he remarked in an interview with broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
“The work we are doing is aimed at creating something extraordinary at the club. All the players who have arrived over the Summer are very good. We work well together. The group is the most important thing and it is what makes you win games and trophies.”
He was then asked about Mauro Icardi’s recent departure from the club.
“As I have always said it was a problem between him and the club, they found a suitable solution for both of them and now we are thinking of continuing what we started. During the work in pre-season and in the last few weeks he did not bring any energy to the group.”
Next Ranocchia spoke on Antonio Conte.
“He always has a great desire to win, a great ferocity and a winning mentality that points only to a single goal and that is victory.”
He concluded the interview by looking ahead to Inter’s next match against Udinese.
“There are no easy matches. We must not put strange alibis on our heads: we have players ready who could take the field beyond the returns of the national teams. Against Udinese it will be as complicated as all the other matches, but we have to go on our way and do everything to win.”
