Valentino Lazaro is eagerly anticipating his debut for Inter following his Summer arrival and is targeting silverware in his first season with the club.

“I can’t wait to play my first minutes with Inter. The clear objective is to win the league title this season. People often talk about winning it in two or three years, but the clear goal for us is to get the Scudetto this year,” he said in an interview with LaOla TV.

“The club’s ambitions are, of course, very, very high; I think Inter remains a world-class club, and now, due to the changes this summer, with a new coach, new players and a new philosophy, the goals are even higher.”

“In the coming years, the goal is to be able to bring the Champions League to Milan once again , with the coach, the president and the entire team but I like to think that this year too we can aim to do important things. Barcelona and Borussia Dortmund are not such bad opponents.

The Austrian then spoke on what it feels like to work under Antonio Conte.

“From the beginning of pre-season with him, I had always trained in the starting line-ups, so I was always there until I was injured; it was a shame to have been out for three weeks but the coach told me not to worry, that I would immediately get back in shape and I would gradually fit in.

“He hopes I can do very well. It is good for me to have played with the national team, I can show him that I am ready. but it is obvious that playing many minutes in a competitive race for a manager like him is different.”

He concluded by discussing Serie A.

“I’ve been following the league for a while, you can see how great players have come to Italy and how the league is growing. The fans are crazy about football, it’s incredible. I don’t think I’ve ever seen anything like it. I can’t wait to experience the big matches at San Siro.”
