The three biggest Italian sports media orientated outlets have shared their views on Inter midfielder Nicolo Barella’s performance in Italy’s 2-1 victory over Finland last night.

The 22-year-old, who arrived at Inter from fellow Italian side Cagliari, played the full EURO 2020 qualifier, which was played in Tampere, Finland.

Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport had the following to say on his performance: “It was a Jekyll and Hyde performance. Just like against Armenia, he was Jekyll in the first half and then Hyde in the second. He won the penalty that would win Italy the game and the ‘old’ Barella returned.”

Tuttosport meanwhile said: “He has not yet shown the dynamism that everyone knows he has but he held his position and won the penalty.”

Corriere dello Sport added: “In the second half he was scary. He raised the tempo, was good on the ball and was decisive in winning the penalty, which was obtained after the ball touched Vaisanen’s hand.”
