Inter president Steven Zhang will tomorrow attempt to be elected onto the board of the European Club Association according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Steven Zhang is aiming to join the board of the ECA tomorrow, the body that represents European football clubs which is currently chaired by Andrea Agnelli,” the report from the Milan based news paper begins.

“The Inter president could in fact run for a position on the Executive Committee too. There are currently 16 members – two of whom represent Italian clubs – and Zhang hopes to join the restricted group having already taken part in some of the commissions previous work.

“It would be an important recognition of Suning’s work at Inter and the club’s rediscovered status and he could be the first Chinese representative in the ECA.”

Zhang is seemingly up against Napoli president and owner Aurelio De Laurentiis for a place on the board as per other reports.
