Giuseppe Rossi has heaped praise upon Inter’s club record transfer signing Romelu Lukaku following his Summer arrival from Manchester United.

“Lukaku scores goals and knows how to do everything. He plays for the team. I have met him in the past, he is a really good lad and he spoke to me in Italian,” he told Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Italian was then asked whether he thinks Alexis Sanchez is the perfect partner for Lukaku and recalled an anecdote about the Chilean from a few years back.

“He is a strong player but I didn’t discover that. When I trained with United, I reminded him that it was thanks to me he ended up at Barcelona. Back in 2011 Barcelona tried to sign me but Villarreal refused so Barca then went after him instead.”

He then spoke on the race for the Serie A title race and the Antonio Conte affect.

“It is interesting, it turns out that even Juventus can find themselves in trouble which did not seem possible in the past. Inter are very strong and solid and Conte has already given them great foundations. He is a manager who brings more points to teams. When you work with him, you train differently, it is a pity that I have never been able to work under him. There is also Napoli but I believe that Inter is now closest behind Juventus.
