Of the initial four plans for the proposed new stadium of Inter and Milan, only two plans now remain according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The remaining two projects are those of the Populous group – who built Tottenham Hotspur’s new stadium – and the joint project between David Manica’s Sportium and Italian group Cmr – who are building Cagliari’s new stadium.

Stefano Boeri and Hok’s projects have been discarded by the clubs but the report does not give reason as to why.

The report explains that the project could be carried out between the two parties and the next step of the new stadium process will be getting the public involved, just as Milan city mayor Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Sala had wished for in a recent interview discussing the new ground which will replace the historic San Siro which has been in operation for close to 100 years.

The Milan based news outlet’s report goes on to conclude that developments are expected to arrive in the coming weeks.
