Nicolo Barella and Stefano Sensi have been playing together in the national team and will soon be doing the same at Inter according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
Sensi has started both of Inter’s games in the league to date whilst Barella has been forced to settle for two appearances off the bench.
In the early part of the season, Conte has preferred the more physically imposing Matias Vecino to start over Barella but did it mainly as he was waiting for Barella to get up to speed.
Barella and Sensi are destined to change the fortunes of the Inter midfield in the years to come and their small statures should not fool you as they are both quality players in their own right.
Inter would not be the only side in Europe to play with two smaller midfielders and a bigger midfielder either, the report goes on. Barcelona used the trident of Xavi, Busquets and Iniesta for years with great success whilst these days PSG, Bayern Munich and Manchester City all play like this among other sides.
