Inter president Steven Zhang has shared his ambitions to “develop relations between Europe and Asia” having been appointed to the European Club Association board.

“The appeal that European clubs have in Asia is something that must be looked into in order to satisfy the passion of the millions of fans who follow our main competitions,” he said in an interview with news agency ANSA.

“I am convinced that it a necessity to look at global markets. I am sure I can make an important contribution toward creating a bridge to develop relations between Europe and Asia.”

Zhang also spoke on the importance of including the younger generations.

“The development of European football cannot ignore young people and their way of communicating. Communication is now global, its immediate, done digitally and without barriers.

“I myself am very young and speak the same language as these people. For this reason, I think I can give a contribution to the ECA when it comes to change and innovation.”
