Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti is well aware that Inter are not in for an easy ride in the Champions League group stages.

“It’s a very demanding group, they are all difficult teams to deal with. It is important to get a positive result in our group stage debut against Slavia. The group is difficult and we will have to work hard to progress,” the Argentine explained in an interview with Czech news outlet Znamzpravy.

He then proceeded to discuss his role at Inter.

“For me it is above all a great responsibility because Inter is a great global brand. There have been several changes of ownership and our task is to preserve the important traditions of Inter.

“I personally take care of social projects, travel all over the world, entertain international relations and manage the Inter Academy project, which is a very important task for us. We want to continue to grow and get closer to our fans. Now I’m close to the team and to Conte.”
