Davide Lippi, the agent of Inter attacker Matteo Politano, has confirmed that Fiorentina tried hard to sign his client in the recent Summer transfer window.

Reports in the Italian media over the Summer suggested La Viola had tabled some offers in the region of €30 million for the Italian international but Inter knocked back their advances with manager Antonio Conte seemingly a big fan of his talents.

“Fiorentina made some important offers for the player, they were serious about wanting to take him to Florence,” Lippi explained in an interview with Lady Radio.

He went on to confirm that the offers arrived from different members of Fiorentina’s leadership.

“Inter were not wanting to sell him but Prade, Commisso and Barone had all made important offers. Let us see what happens in the January transfer window.”

In conclusion he added: “I wish Matteo well for the start of the season with the Nerazzurri.”
