Fiorentina president Rocco Commisso has admitted that La Viola wanted to sign Radja Nainggolan from Inter during the Summer transfer window prior to the Belgian’s transfer to Cagliari.

“We wanted Rodrigo De Paul, Raphinha, Daniele De Rossi and Radja Nainggolan. The prices of the first two weren’t fair in our eyes. I’ve been clear, we want to do better than last season. With our turnover, you can’t spend €230m. You have to change mechanisms and increase revenues,” he insisted in an interview with Corriere dello Sport.

Commisso then spoke on star man Federico Chiesa, who drew strong links to both Juventus and Inter over the course of the Summer transfer window.

“We never received a call from Juventus or any other club for Chiesa. Our position has always been clear.

“I read Della Valle would’ve given me a discount, as long as I didn’t sell Chiesa. But do you really think they knocked off €70m during negotiations?”
