Former Italian international defender Pietro Vierchowod believes that Inter could take advantage if Juventus are to become distracted throughout the remainder of the Serie A campaign.
“After conceding three goals against Napoli, Juventus were clearly distracted. Such distractions can allow for other clubs to fight for the title and above all, I am thinking of Inter,” Vierchowod, who is best known for his 12 year spell at Sampdoria, said in an interview with FirenzeViola.it.
Inter head into the third round of Serie A action as the league leaders having won both of their games to date and they are currently ahead of their Bianconeri rivals on goal difference.
The two sides will face off against one another at the start of next month at Inter’s San Siro stadium in a match where Inter could really solidify their credentials as possible Serie A title contenders if they are to pick up a victory.
