Fiorentina manager Vincenzo Montella believes that the Serie A title is not a foregone conclusion, despite the clear disparity of wage bills of all clubs in the league.

“I was reading the data on the wage bills of clubs in Italy. Juve spends twice as much as the other big sides. Fiorentina’s president Rocco Commisso is right when he says that the Bianconeri could line up three different teams. Fortunately, Maurizio Sarri can only deploy eleven at a time,” he said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Inter and Napoli are however closer to Juventus than before and the title has not already been won by Juventus.”

Montella then went on to discuss what he liked about Inter in particular.

“I like that the new Inter appears to be single minded which is with thanks to Antonio Conte. He was disappointed by Ivan Perisic and the Croatian was sold.

“He wanted Romelu Lukaku signed and Giuseppe Marotta satisfied his wishes. Conte manages to get what he wants. There are not many coaches able to do that. After getting what he wants, of course he produces results.”
