Inter vice-president Javier Zanetti has shared his thoughts on the inspiration behind the new Inter third kit which was launched last night.

The new kit, which is predominately black with yellow detailing, takes inspiration from the UEFA Cup winning side of 1997/98 and Champions League winning 2009/10 kits.

“They were two beautiful jerseys in which we lived two unforgettable moments together with our fans. They were fantastic moments but they were in the past, now we have to work on the present and the future,” he told Inter’s in-house channel Inter TV.

Zanetti then spoke on the long standing relationship between the club and Pirelli.

“It has lasted for a very long time. They are part of our family, they arrived when I arrived. I know well what Inter’s history is and how they feel about it. We all work for the good of the club and the team.”

He then spoke on the huge turnout at the event.

“There was a lot of people, a lot of enthusiasm but I am not surprised because there are Inter fans everywhere. We must respect our fans and do everything and more to make them happy.”
