The Populous group’s plan for Inter and AC Milan’s proposed new stadium is currently ahead of the plan put together by Cmr and David Manica according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Milan city mayor Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Sala is expected to give his views on each of the two plans by October 10 and this is the exact reason why he invited the clubs to present everything to him.

The clubs are expected to make the two plans public on or around September 24 therefore the presentation to the city council will come before that but it is as yet unclear when that will be.

Populous were the company behind the new Wembley Stadium, Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium, Benfica’s Estadio Da Luz, South Africa’s Soccer City Park and most recently Tottenham Hotspur’s brand new stadium.

Cmr have meanwhile been entrusted with coming up with a new stadium for both Cagliari and Padua.

The report goes on to conclude that experts believe Populous have a clear advantage over Cmr’s plans although the two clubs still see it as quite balanced.
