Veteran Italian central midfielder Daniele Croce believes that Inter are best placed to challenge Juventus this season for the title in Serie A.

“Napoli is a strong team, but Inter, with Antonio Conte as their manager, can be the true rival of Juventus,” Croce, who has played for Pescara and Empoli among others, said in an interview with Radio Sportiva.

“It will take time to see what Maurizio Sarri can do at Juventus but they already seem to be at a good level. Conte is different from Sarri although they do have meticulousness to detail and preparation in common. They are two of the strongest managers in the world.”

Croce, who is currently without a club having left Cremonese at the end of last season, concluded the interview by adding: “It will be a good challenge for the league title and I think that Inter will be close to Juventus right until the end.”
