Player Ratings – Inter 1 – 0 Udinese: Sensational Sensi Sends Inter To The Top Of The Serie A

Another Inter game, another world class Stefano Sensi performance, and therefore another 3 points. Inter played well in phases and then showed enough grinta to keep Udinese out and go 2 points ahead of Juventus who earlier could only get a goalless draw in Florence.

Samir Handanovic – 6.5: Simple saves to make in the first half. Moved the ball around well but was under no pressure. Stayed awake though to keep the Lasagna shot out.

Diego Godin – 7: Not the best start to the game as he is still settling in, but experience and character helped put Inter ahead and keep the 3 points to go top of Serie A.

Stefan de Vrij – 7: Absolute rock in the heart of defence. He’s used the international break very well. Ate Lasagna for dinner tonight. No sign of the injury whatsoever.

Milan Skriniar – 7: Didn’t have the best time with his national team. Took all his anger to task against Udinese. Used his physicality well all game. Strong performance.

Antonio Candreva – 6.5: Conte has sparked him into life. Nobody could have imagined the Meazza asking for the ball to be passed to him. Could have had an assist or two.

Nicolo Barella – 5.5: Doesn’t look like he’s settled in quite yet. Few good passes but that tackle on De Paul could have cost Inter. Rightfully hauled off at halftime by Conte.

Marcelo Brozovic – 6.5: Played out of his natural regista role to start with but then once Barella was booked, Conte switched it around and then it was back the usual Epic Brozo.

Stefano Sensi – 7.5: Even in a poor-ish first half performance, Stefano stood out. The volley deserved to be a goal, the header was brilliant. The free kick was sublime.

Kwadwo Asamoah – 6: Asamoah didn’t really do much attacking tonight. Defensively solid as usual and the wavelength’s with Skriniar always match. Steady as usual.

Romelu Lukaku – 5.5: Couldn’t control the ball and always had 2-3 players closing down his return ball. Application was lacking in the first half, but the effort was there.

Matteo Politano – 6: Started bright and came close to scoring thrice in the first half. Looks much better centrally, ran all the time and won fouls in dangerous areas.

Roberto Gagliardini – 6.5: This is the player Inter thought they had signed. Looked full of energy and hunger as never seen before. Tried too hard to get a goal. Onwards.

Lautaro Martinez – 6.5: Is in fantastic form at the moment. Made an instant impact as the game needed a striker who plays like him to open spaces. Was fouled too often.

Alexis Sanchez – 6: Full of running and hunger. Should have had a goal too, but Musso pulled a miracle block out of nowhere. Conte has a hungry player up his sleeve.

Antonio Conte – 6.5: Will be disappointed that Inter didn’t get the second goal to close the game out. The international players looked tired, but 3 points are always welcome.

Maurizio Mariani – 5 : Used VAR well all game. Maybe should have had another look at the Barella tackle. However let Udinese off with too many simple fouls later on.

Inter – 6 : Inter werent as fluid as the fans would like, but the important thing is to keep grinding the smaller teams. Especially if you aim to win the league.

Agree? Disagree? Who do you think was Inter’s best player of the night?
