AC Milan boss Marco Giampaolo has insisted that he will have his side try to play their own game in this weekend’s Derby della Madonnina against Inter.
“First of all it is the event that has its importance and is fun and so it must be, it is not a war, but we will go onto the field and we will to play our game and be Milan. I always tell my team to respect everyone, whether our opponent is in first or last place in the standings,” he said in an interview with AC Milan’s in-house channel Milan TV.
Milan head into the first Milan derby of the season in seventh place in the Serie A table having picked up two wins and a loss in their opening three matches of the 19/20 season.
They will be playing host to an in-form Inter side who have won every game of theirs in the league so far and currently find themselves at the top of the table.
