Inter CEO Beppe Marotta told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia that he believes that new coach Antonio Conte is a winner, moments before kick-off at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.
“Conte is a winning coach, his experience with Juventus ended with three Serie A titles. The team then was different to the one he has today, and the impact of the Champions League was more difficult, then it also depends on the opponent. Tonight, we go into the match not knowing our own values as well as those of our opponents.”
“We have enacted a change with respect to our immediate past and it is normal that expectations arise. It was a good start and above all, we are happy for the model that we have built. It is a winning model, which is at the top of our goals.”
“To be top of the league now is relative, what should be analyzed instead is the period that brought us to this point where we were able to win these matches. The team is responding to what the coach indicates and this is very important.”
“Inter has always been a great club and with the Zhang family the entire environment has been revitalized. Our objectives appear to be achievable but the road to achieving them is very long.”
“We acknowledge the fact that the club has invested a lot, we are reconquering our position bit by bit. Then it is clear that Inter always wants to fulfill their high potential.”
“We have achieved our goal of creating a structure with competent people at every level, and I have to say that Steven Zhang, although being very young, is entering day by day into the mechanisms of a football club.”
