Inter could win the Champions League exactly 10 years on from their last victory in the competition, Milan based news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport have highlighted with the final due to take place on May 30, 2020, in Istanbul.

The Nerazzurri will kick-start their Champions League campaign this evening at home to Slavia Prague with kick-off scheduled for 18:55 CET.

Slavia Prague aside, Inter will find themselves competing with Borussia Dortmund and Barcelona in group F for a place in the knockout stages.

The report then goes on to detail the financial benefits of competing in the competition.

“In any case, playing in the Champions League brings absolutely essential revenues for clubs. Juventus pocketed €450 million in Max Allegri’s five-year tenure whilst the elimination to Ajax in the quarter-finals last season gave Juventus €94 million.

“In the last season, the other Italian sides did not do too bad either. Roma got €57 million, Napoli were in and around €50 million whilst Inter got a little less.
