Danilo D’Ambrosio has shared his thoughts and feelings following Inter’s disappointing 1-1 draw with Slavia Prague to begin their Champions League group stage campaign.

“We could have done more, especially when they pressed us. We know how to play our game when someone presses us high but today we were not able to put what we had been working on into practice,” he remarked in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport after the match.

“We do not want to make excuses, we had been working every day to make ourselves ready. We had two play at a higher tempo with one or two touches as we had been in training. We will analyse the errors from the match.”

He concluded by looking forward to this weekend’s Derby della Madonnina against city rivals AC Milan.

“Milan has a predefined style of play, a fairly clear and orderly game. They press well and are good in posession of the ball.
