Former Inter and Paris Saint Germain midfielder Benoit Cauet has sang the praises of Mauro Icardi, who swapped the former club for the latter one during the recently closed Summer transfer window.
“His style is similar to that of David Trezeguet or Filippo Inzaghi; he is an old-fashioned striker and I do not see many players out there like that currently,” he remarked in an interview with French news outlet Le Parisien.
“He is a really good goalscorer and is very strong in the opposition box. He is also very good at heading the ball and good technically too. In the box he is a killer.”
Cauet, who spent four years at the Nerazzurri between 1997-2001, concluded by stating: “He is also capable of playing for the team. A team can lean on him, even if it is not his main quality. It is difficult to get the ball off him.”
