Antonio Candreva is working hard to get back fit for this weekend’s Derby della Madonnina according to a report from Corriere dello Sport.

The Italian, who has been rejuvenated since Antonio Conte’s arrival as manager in the Summer, was forced off the field in Tuesday’s 1-1 draw with Slavia Prague early into the second half having sustained an injury to his back.

His condition will be evaluated today as Inter officially begin their preparations for the match and the club are confident that he will be able to recover in time for Saturday night’s affair against AC Milan.

The report from the Rome based news outlet goes on to state that if for any reason Candreva is unable to recover, Danilo D’Ambrosio will take his place in the team at right wing back.

D’Ambrosio has made all of his appearances this season as a centre back in Conte’s 3-5-2 system but is naturally a right back/right wing back by trade.
