Milan city mayor Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Sala has once again stressed his will to see San Siro restructured but has admitted that he knows both Inter and AC Milan must be listened to if they wish to go down a different route.

“At this point, I think I have already said so many things on the matter, I think it is useful now that we remain silent until we understand the project and all the technical details regarding its feasibility,” he remarked in an interview with news agency ANSA.

“I have made it clear that I have bond with San Siro and my desire is to see the clubs restructure it, but if the teams believe that the way forward is different, they must be listened to in compliance with all the rules.”

He then revealed one detail about the proposed new stadium.

“It will be a stadium with 60,000 seats , so the reduction in capacity compared to San Siro would be limited.”
