Ahead of tomorrow night’s first Derby della Madonnina of the season, former AC Milan midfielder and Italian international Massimo Ambrosini, has recalled his favourite personal experience in the historic fixture.

“My first derby. I still have the San Siro glance in my mind, I was a kid, we lost but what a thrill it was to play in it and then of course the derby that brought us to the final of the Champions League,” he explained in an interview with Milan based news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport.

Ambrosini, who was on the Rossoneri’s books for near 20 years between 1995-2013, then commented on tomorrow night’s match at San Siro which will be the 148th time that they meet in league action.

“The match tomorrow? I see it as a very balanced match. As for Milan, I think it iss easier to play well against the big teams, because you have more space.”
