Udinese manager Igor Tudor has voiced his disappointment at star man Rodrigo de Paul being handed a three match ban.
During the Bianconeri’s 1-0 loss to Inter at the weekend, in a moment of sheer madness de Paul slapped Inter’s Antonio Candreva and was handed a straight red card after a VAR check by referee Maurizio Mariani.
“He had been provoked, had just suffered what I would have said was a red card worthy foul and received many insults. A three match suspension is excessive, at least one match should be taken away. I have spoken to him and he knows he made a big mistake but he is a smart guy,” he said in an interview with Tutto Mercato Web.
Tudor did however admit in conclusion that he thinks that the versatile Argentine attacker will come back a better player because of this.
“I am sure that he will learn from this lesson by coming back even more motivated and eager than he was before.”
