Former Inter player Juan Sebastian Veron has shared his delight at how Antonio Conte has got his Inter side playing since taking on the role of manager during the Summer and believes that Conte can return the glory days to the club.
Inter are currently sitting two points clear at the top of the Serie A table after four matches, with them winning all four of them.
“Conte can take Inter back to the glory days of when I was with the club. I think Conte is going through an important moment at Inter and I hope he can keep it going,” the former Argentine international midfielder remarked in an interview with Tutto Mercato Web.
Veron, who spent two years on loan at the Nerazzurri between 2004-2006 and made 49 appearances for the club, then spoke on the gap between Inter and Juventus, who have reigned supreme over Italian football for a number of years now.
“It is not easy to go up against a team like Juventus, but with hard work you can create a large group and a great team.”
