Milan city mayor Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Sala has once again spoken on the situation regarding Inter and AC Milan’s proposed new stadium and admits he is to put aside his ‘nostalgia’ and ‘passion’ for the two clubs current San Siro home, something he has been very vocal about.

“There will be a discussion within the City Council and in a few weeks it will be necessary to arrive at a decision because if this discussion does not reach a decision then the process will be dragged out. It is better that it does not take too long,” he told the gathered media at the Engie Green Forum event today in Milan.

I am not boycotting the construction of a new stadium and I decided to put aside my nostalgia and my passion for San Siro, because otherwise I would not be a good mayor. I will respect the rules and certainly the environmental aspect will be fundamental.”
