Ahead of tonight’s game between Barcelona and Inter, Corriere dello Sport have taken a look at the gap between the two clubs in terms of experience in the Champions League.

Barcelona’s squad have made a combined 882 Champions League appearances between them, almost four times as many as Inter’s squad have managed, with them having played 239.

Diego Godin has made the most appearances of any player in Inter’s ranks with 59, Alexis Sanchez second with 52 and Kwadwo Asamoah third with 28.

Barcelona’s star man Lionel Messi has however managed no less than 139 appearances in European football’s premier continental club competition. Sergio Busquets has made 107, therefore Messi and Busquets combined total alone equals more than Inter’s total number of appearances.

Despite this, the report goes on to state that Inter manager Antonio Conte completely believes in his side, even if the game appears to be a David vs Goliath situation. The mentality that Conte has instilled in the team is similar to that of the mentality Jose Mourinho gave his Inter side.
