The refereeing appointments for this weekend’s Serie A action have been confirmed, with Gianluca Rocchi assigned to referee Inter Derby D’Italia match up at home to arch-rivals Juventus.

Rocchi will be assisted at San Siro by Filippo Meli and Ciro Carbone whilst the fourth official for the match will be Fabio Maresca. Massimiliano Irrati has been assigned to take charge of VAR and Giorgio Peretti will be there to assist him.

46-year-old Rocchi, who refereed last season’s Europa League final, has refereed five matches across all competitions this season in which he has dished out 22 yellow cards, one red card and four penalties.

Inter’s have won just 15 of the 34 games that Rocchi has refereed them in whilst Juventus can boast a much better record of 27 wins from the 35 games that Rocchi was at the helm.

Heading into this weekend, Inter are currently leading Serie A having made the perfect start to the campaign whilst Juventus are in second place, two points behind.
