Legendary Italian manager Arrigo Sacchi has insisted that Inter should not be disheartened to have lost to Barcelona after the performance which they put in away at the Camp Nou.

“The Nerazzurri played with clear ideas and courage in the first half against Barcelona. Inter, with many inexperienced players, played a good game and showed a lot of personality, both of which bode well for the future,” he said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“In the second half, the Blaugrana grew into the came and forced Conte’s side deeper and thus they were more likely to concede and had limited scope for counter attacks.

“The defeat must not discourage the Nerazzurri. Against Barcelona they have shown the potential to win all of the remaining matches in the Champions League group stage.  It was a moment of growth for Inter that must give everyone courage and conviction. Congratulations to Antonio and his boys.”
