In an interview with Sky Sport, Inter legend Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Bergomi reflected on last night’s first Derby D’Italia of the season.

“Juventus approached the game in the right way. Inter played well but went on to suffer a drop in their performance levels in the second half. Juventus put in a mature team performance, in which they showed incredible awareness, something I did not expected to see from them,” he said.

“Inter have embarked on a journey and it was a good match although Gonzalo Higuain’s goal resembled Luis Suarez’s second goal.”

He also spoke on Diego Godin’s struggles during the match at San Siro.

“Godin has a lot of experience. I played the same role as he did for so many years. You need to have a lot of energy. Conte is asking Godin to do more than what he is used to, things he never did when in a four-man defence. Godin seemed to be tired and perhapshe is best suited playing in a back four.”
