Inter could benefit from city rivals AC Milan’s pursuit of former manager Luciano Spalletti according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Current AC Milan manager Marco Giampaolo is under a lot of pressure and not expected to be in the job much longer, despite the win over Genoa at the weekend, and Milan’s leadership are already looking for replacements.

Spalletti, who managed Inter for two seasons, was removed from his position as Nerazzurri manager this Summer despite still having two years left to run on his contract.

Should AC Milan go on to convince Spalletti to take the job, Inter will save approximately €15 million with this sum also including the staff Inter removed alongside Spalletti.

Spalletti is however not the only name that the Rossoneri are looking at with former Inter managers Stefano Pioli and Claudio Ranieri both also understood to be under consideration as well as Rudi Garcia and Cesare Prandelli.
