Noted journalist Mario Sconcerti has shared his views on last night’s first Derby D’Italia of the season between Inter and Juventus at San Siro, which the visitors won 2-1.

“The difference between Inter and Juventus was the performances of the strikers. Whilst Lautaro Martinez performed on a similar level to Paulo Dybala, Romelu Lukaku disappeared in front of Gonzalo Higuain,” he wrote in his column for Corriere della Sera.

“Lukaku is perhaps the first real problem of Inter. He seems to never know what to do and does not make an impact despite all that he can bring to the pitch.

“Juventus has everything, even a coach who is changing. I got the impression that Juventus were better in the match but were often put in difficulty by Inter. I didn’t see a decisive difference between the teams though, they are two teams that will have to pick up points against lesser opponents.”

He concluded: “Inter and Juventus are practically on a par with one another. Inter are now needing to reflect whilst Juventus are growing.”
