Carmine Nunziata, the manager of the Italian under 17 national team, has shared his disappointment about being unable to include Inter starlet Sebastiano Esposito in his squad for the under 17 World Cup.

As a result of Alexis Sanchez’s injury, Inter requested for Esposito to not be named in the side due to the fact they would find themselves incredibly short on attacking options if he were to be included.

“I feel sorry that Esposito could not come with us but unfortunately we have been prevented from calling him by Inter who showed a great availability until the end. He is a player who has always been a leader in this team, both in terms of his ability and in the dressing room,” he explained in an interview with the FIGC, the Italian football federation, website.

“I always regret having to give up on guys who have built this path with us: I will never stop thanking them but this is the burden of every coach, who is obliged to make choices, bearing in mind that there are only 21 places available.”
