In an interview with Italian radio station TMW Radio, Francesco Colonnese believes Inter have made the right decision in not allowing Sebastiano Esposito to go away to the under 17 World Cup with Italy.
“The club is trying to protect the player, the national team is an important showcase for a guy like him but the club is the one that pays him and as a result must do what is best for them,” he began.
“He has been kept because Antonio Conte is convinced about using him otherwise he would have let him go. They have made the most logical choice for Inter’s own good.”
He then spoke briefly on Inter’s match away to Sassuolo on Sunday.
“In recent years they have always caused problems, it will be a delicate match, against a proactive team and a fit Domenico Berardi. Inter must get back on track after the loss to Juventus.”
In conclusion he was asked what he made of the reports linking Zlatan Ibrahimovic with a return to the club.
“In January Inter have to reinforce but seeing him back at Inter is difficult.”
