Former Livorno and Italy international striker Cristiano Lucarelli has shared his thoughts and feelings on how Inter’s defence have looked at this early part of the 2019/20 season.
“The Nerazzurri defence is very strong. There are some experienced players and other younger ones, there is a lot of physical strength and the players are even good with their feet, it is potentially a very strong department,” Lucarelli remarked in an interview with Italian radio station Radio Sportiva.
Inter have allowed just four goals in seven Serie A games to date and can currently boast having the best defensive record in the league.
They have conceded just seven goals in total in their nine games across all competitions this season all while regularly rotating the players in the starting line up, whether that be one of the three centre backs or one of the two wing backs in Inter manager Antonio Conte’s 3-5-2 system.
