Inter striker Lautaro Martinez spoke to Italian broadcaster DAZN following the Nerazzurri’s 4-3 victory over Sassuolo away at the Mapei Stadium in the Serie A.

“Conte wasn’t happy because we were dominating the game at 4-1, then the match got complicated because we lost lucidity on the pitch and we ended up suffering; in this sense we have to improve every day, training and making sure that this doesn’t happen again. We had to win; we couldn’t afford to draw. These are 3 points that are really important for us.”

The 22-year-old Argentinian was positive about working with coach Antonio Conte.

“I know I have to keep working to improve myself and help Inter. I’m very well physically, the coach is giving me a lot of confidence and makes us work every day with great intensity, this is important. I’m happy, I’m fine and so I can help the team.”

He then discussed the partnership with former Manchester United forward Romelu Lukaku.

“We are playing together for the first time; we’re getting to know each other. These are the first games, but we have to give our all and we work to get to know each other better and it helps that the team is trying to make every opportunity that happen.”

Finally, Lautaro touched on the tribute he gave to his mother today after scoring.

“Yes, today in Argentina is Mother’s Day. She suffers a lot from the fact that we are far away, but she always wants the best for me. That’s why I dedicated my goals to her.”
