In an interview with the official website of Champions League organisers UEFA, former Inter and Germany midfielder Lothar Matthaus has shared his thoughts on Borussia Dortmund’s performance in their 2-0 defeat away to Inter last night.

“I believe that what Borussia Dortmund did was not enough, they could have done more despite the absence of Reus. This team is not so young, I would have expected much more from them once they went behind,” he said.

“You can’t create opportunities without a real striker, there was no one in the box. Dortmund took only two shots from inside the penalty area.”
