In an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia, Lautaro Martinez reflected upon Inter’s 2-0 win over Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, a match in which he opened the scoring in.
“There is great emotion for everything. We lost to Barcelona but we had a great game, then lost to Juventus and did good to win against Sassuolo,” he started.
“We had to get back to winning in the Champions League, we all wanted this and I am very happy on a personal level too. The most important thing is to help the team and continue to grow.”
He then spoke on his missed penalty.
“Honestly, I wanted to kick it to the other side and then changed my mind at the last second. Fortunately, Candreva’s goal arrived.
He concluded: “We will have to continue like this even in the next group matches, following what Conte tells us every day and improving ourselves. It will be hard for the opponents to play against us.”
