Cagliari coach Rolando Maran spoke highly of Inter owned midfielder Radja Nainggolan to gathered reporters in a press conference yesterday following the Sardinian side’s 1-1 draw against Torino, with Italian media outlet TuttoMercatoWeb in attendance.
“He, like everyone else, works with great selflessness. In this way we can exalt the characteristics of the players.”
Nainggolan re-joined Cagliari on loan this summer after only spending a single season with the Nerazzurri last year. Last season the 31-year-old Belgian midfielder made 36 appearances for Inter, scoring seven goals and providing three assists. However, his penalty against Lazio in the Coppa Italia quarter-finals last year was saved by Lazio keeper Thomas Strakosha, which allowed the Biancocelesti to win with the following penalty.
So far this season Nainggolan has made seven appearances for Cagliari, scoring one goal and providing one assist. His wonder goal against SPAL helped the Sardinian side achieve a vital three points in the league.
