Bellinazzo: “Inter Regaining Licencing & Retail Rights From Nike Will Increase Costs & Revenues”

Speaking in an interview with Italian radio station Radio 24 on their ‘Tutto Convocati’ show, football finance expert and Il Sole 24 Ore journalist Marco Bellinazzo has spoken on what Inter’s latest deal with kit manufacturers Nike means going forward.

Following the annual shareholders meeting, which saw Inter’s shareholders approve club record revenue figures, Inter chief executive Alessandro Antonello confirmed the club had re-acquired the licensing and retail rights but did not go into much detail about what that actually meant for the Nerazzurri.

Bellinazzo explained what it means for Inter as follows: “Inter has regained the licensing and retail rights from Nike and now they will be able to open its own stores and sell products with its own brand. Costs will increase, but so will revenues. Suning is investing heavily in club capitalisation.”

It now remains to be seen just how much Inter will manage to increase their revenue levels.
