Bologna’s medical staff are doing everything they can to give Mitchell Dijks the best chance of returning to action for this weekend’s match at home to Inter, according to a report in today’s print edition of Corriere dello Sport.
The Dutch full back has now not played in over a month, because of bruising to both his ribs and one of his feet. Today will be a fundamental day in deciding whether the 26-year-old could make it for the match and the report states it could well become apparent that the former Ajax player has in fact sustained an ankle sprain.
Dijks is not the only player believed to be in doubt for Saturday evening’s clash at the Stadio Renata Dall’Ara either with the report also stating that Gary Medel is doubtful. The Chilean defensive midfielder, who spent three years with Inter between 2014-2017, is currently struggling with a muscle injury.
