Matteo Marani has spoken on the difference in Inter’s attack between this season and last, with Inter now playing with a strike force of Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku, opposed to just one man up top inn Mauro Icardi last season.
“When Icardi was Inter’s centre forward, he gave off the impression of being a foreign body in the team. However, with Lautaro Martinez and Romelu Lukaku, different movements are being made, they are always involved and their understanding with one another is perfect,” he said in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia.
He then spoke on Inter’s clear energy issues as a result of their packed schedule.
“Conte has a very strong appeal, the words he says carry a certain weight with them and he sent a clear message with his comments. Inter won in Brescia but struggled because they were tired. It is clear that playing in the Champions League too is taking their energy away.”
