Marco Tronchetti Provera, the chief executive of Inter’s main shirt sponsor Pirelli, has spoken on the Inter he fell in love with and how that has changed, particularly this season.
Inter have made a great start to the 2018/19 season winning eight of their opening 10 league games as well as being on course to qualify for the knockout stages of the Champions League at the halfway point of the group stage.
“I fell in love with Moratti’s Inter, the one that may have missed out on several opportunities but had players like Recoba and Baggio who made us madly fall in love with the team,” he is quoted as saying at an event by alanews.it.
“Normalisation was necessary and now we can appreciate higher quality and more structure. It is no longer the Pazza Inter I once knew but rightly so. This change is taking place with thanks to two former Juventini in Marotta and Conte, which is difficult to stomach but they are also good.”
