Roberto Samaden, the head of youth development at Inter, has spoken on how it feels to see so many of Inter’s academy players currently at the ongoing under 17 World Cup in Brazil.

“Having players playing for national teams is a source of pride for us, whether it is Lucien Agoume or the five away with Italy. It is one of our goals for this to happen, the kids get international experience, therefore we are happy,” he remarked in an interview with Inter’s in-house channel Inter TV.

“It is of course difficult on the team front having to do without the likes of Lorenzo Pirola, Gaetano Oristanio and Agoume but it also gives an opportunity to give a chance to the players who have played less as we saw against Genoa and Dortmund. We must continue to give everyone a chance in order to be able to evaluate them. I see this is an opportunity rather than a problem.”
